- Dr. Satyendra Katewa is considered as pioneer in starting Haploidentical (50% HLA matched) bone marrow transplants for children in India. He also started and established T depleted (TCR aß & B cell depleted transplants) in India. He is one of the most senior pediatric transplanters in India.

- Nov 2007: Best Scientific Paper award at National Pediatric Critical Care, Delhi.
- Jan 2006: Best Resident Award at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for the Year 2005-2006.
