Dr Muruganandham has played a key role in Renal Transplantation programs at various Institutes. He performed the first kidney transplantation surgery at JIPMER and also performed the first Laparoscopic kidney retrieval from living related donor. He is the Founder Secretary and Convener of JIPMER Quality Council, an innovative approach for patient's safety and quality program.

Experience

Dr Muruganandham has a fair knowledge of General Surgery and Urology. He has 19 years of experience as a Consultant Urologist. Since 2011, he has been a professor in the Urology department.

Expertise

• Led the surgical team which successfully performed first deceased donor kidney transplantation first time in Union Territory of Puducherry
• Endo-Urological procedures including URSL, TURP, TUR(BT), Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy, Flexible Cystonacroscopy, etc
• Advanced Uro-Oncological procedures like Radical nephrectomy with IVC thrombectomy, Radical prostatectomy, Retro pertinoneal lymph node dissection, etc
